The BMC Show at Uttoxeter is on the 6th September. As with Himley, This has now been booked. Anyone who still wishes to go will need to book in themselves.

Woodvale Classic Car Show

Tickets will be £5 per car, which covers both days. We have been allowed to order the tickets on a sale or return basis – we have requested 15 tickets which anyone can buy from Mavis when they wish. Hopefully we should receive these by the next meeting then we have to return any unsold tickets, along with a cheque for those sold, toward the end of July.

The Manx Mini Meet August 4th – 5th 2012

The Manx Mini Register will be running the Manx Mini Meet again in 2012, once again we hope to give you a packed weekend.
A navigational run around the beautiful Manx countryside using “Tulip” type navigational book. The ever popular blindfold autotest, a skill driving test of a Mini with a (very big) difference (lots of fun with this one)! As it was so very popular last year, we are looking forward to getting road closure for the Marine Drive again this year.
Meal and prize presentation at the Italian Job restaurant in Douglas.

Hebden Bridge Vintage Car Rally

The Hebden Bridge Vintage Car Rally, organised by The Rotary Club of
Hebden Bridge, West Yorks., will again be staged at Calder Holmes
Park, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th
August 2012.
This popular family event attracts hundreds of vintage and classic
cars as well as motor cycles and scooters, commercial and American
vehicles up to 1971, military vehicles plus kit cars and replica cars
of any age, and vintage tractors.

The Wirral Minis St Valentines Run

This was a very pleasant run out for Sunday Lunch to The Red Lion at Ellesmere in Shropshire. We meet in the cafe at The Daleside (Strikes) Garden Centre. In convoy following John Sanderson on a route he planned that morning, to take us away from the boring A483. As we arrived into Ellesmere, we were greeted by the mere on our left. After parking up, we had a nice stroll by the side of the mere, watching some visitors feeding the ducks and geese that were there.

Once at the Red Lion, we were shown our table, which was a little bit of a tight squeeze with 11 members, and all proceeded to order our lunch. At one point our chairman wanted a drink, and said to John Ashton, to “breathe in fatty” so he could get past…Unaware of the “large” lady sitting next to them, who, luckily, had a sense of humour, else our chairman may have been dessert!

After leaving the pub, we had a nice slow walk back towards the cars along the side of the mere, where we met a few geese, who liked to pose for the camera.

Mega Mini Event/John Chamings Memorial Day

Mega Mini Event at Oulton Park is on Sunday 15th July. This is a classic car show with a special Mini Attraction with all minis parking in the paddock area and is free for minis on display but we would need car registration No. This will be our John Chamings Memorial day as John was very fond of Oulton Park and we’ll call at one of the nearby pubs, which he introduced us to, for a meal on the way home. Mark is planning to book us in on Friday 20th so ring Mark on 01745 852277 if you would like to be added to the list.
